Allosaurus (Allosaurus fragilis) was the largest carnivore of the Upper Jurassic Period. It grabbed its prey with the claws of its short front legs, tearing it up with its blade-like teeth. The Tendaguru expedition yielded only very few bones of the animal. Thus, the skeleton exhibited is an artificial cast.
