We use minerals every day, often without realising it. The “lead” in your pencil, for example, is actually made from the mineral graphite. Chalk, too, is a mineral, as are other everyday things such as salt or plaster of Paris. This guided tour highlights the importance of minerals without requiring any knowledge of basic chemistry.
