The hoofed mammal hall is only open until 31.12.2011
The historical hoofed mammal hall will be part of a second phase of building work and must be urgently renovated Historical hoofed mammal hall in the Museum of Natural History
The exhibit about the systematics of hoofed mammals stems from the year 1967, although some of the preparations are much older. At that time, certain museum rooms were devoted to the presentation of different animal groups. The goal was to show the diversity of these animals and their evolutionary relationships. From this concept, only the hoofed mammal hall remains.
The hoofed mammal hall will be part of a second phase of building work, and will be completely renovated from next year. The room will be returned to its original architecture from 1889 and will reopen in ca. 2016 with a newly conceived exhibition.
During renovation many of the hoofed mammals will remain on show, albeit in other rooms of the museum.
