		Welcome Welcome to the homepage of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Berlin Museum of Natural History)! With more than 30 million objects in its zoological, palaeontological, geological and mineralogical collections and with its exhibition halls with an area of about 6 600 square meters the Museum für Naturkunde is the biggest of its kind in Germany and one of the five biggest in the world.

		Countdown 2010 Countdown 2010 is a network of active partners working together towards the 2010 biodiversity target. Each partner is committed to make special efforts in the fight against biodiversity loss. The Museum für Naturkunde will contribute to these efforts with its exhibitions, its scientific research on biodiversity and evolution, and with its large scientific collections that provide a "memory of earth and life" and a "reference volume" of terrestrial biodiversity.
